Buyer’s guide

When $19 Google-only beats a $399 inbox — and when it doesn’t

Honest buyer’s guide: reviewsGBP vs Podium, Birdeye, RepliFast, and Google’s built-in AI. Choose a suite when you need SMS and listings. Choose a reply queue when Google is the job.

Start with the job, not the category page

“Review management software” bundles SMS asks, surveys, 200 directories, webchat, and sometimes payments. That is a real job. It is also why quotes start near $299–$399 per location. If the actual chore is “every Google review gets a specific owner reply,” you are overbuying.

Choose a suite (Podium, Birdeye, and kin)

  • Inbound SMS, webchat, or text-to-pay is daily operations
  • You monitor many sites, not just Google
  • You need listings syndication or a survey funnel
  • You have budget for annual contracts and onboarding weeks

Keep them. reviewsGBP will not grow into that suite. See vs Podium and vs Birdeye.

Choose a cheaper Google autopilot

If lowest price and Google Posts / profile activity in the same login matter more than approval-first defaults, look at tools that sell that pack. vs RepliFast is the honest split: they win on price and visibility extras; we win on 1-star never auto-posting and an Agency tier at $99 for 10 locations.

Choose Google’s own AI helper

Free, in the app you already open. No queue, no star-rating policy, no 1-star lock as a product rule. Fine at low volume. Full comparison.

Choose reviewsGBP

  • Google Business Profile is the listing that actually gets replies
  • You want AI drafts you can edit, plus optional auto-send by stars
  • 1-star must stay human — not a setting you can forget
  • You need 1, 3, or 10 locations without an enterprise CX contract

NiceJob, Grade.us, and others still belong on a suite shortlist. We do not publish a fake feature matrix for products we have not used as a buyer. If the job is Google replies, the table above is the one we will stand behind.
